The fonds reflects Margaret Peterson’s artistic processes and practices, research interests, pedagogy, her relationship with Howard O’Hagan, and her relationships with friends, patrons, fellow artists, galleries and various institutions.

The fonds consists of correspondence, photographs, biographical documents, diaries and notebooks, financial and business-related documents, grant applications, teaching materials, unpublished poetry and manuscripts, exhibition catalogues, clippings and publications, drawings and small artworks, painting materials, objects collected by Peterson, and various ephemera.

Correspondents include Howard O’Hagan, Elza Mayhew, Glenn Wessels, J. Russell Harper, Jean Varda, Dorothy and John B. Grover, Joy Ling, Walter Askin, Robert and Sarah Amos, Helen Anderson, R.W. Peterson, Ellen Charlotte Peterson, and Jane Hanks.

The fonds has been arranged into five series: Biographical, Art Practice, Publications, clippings and collected ephemera, Teaching, and Howard O’Hagan Materials.

The fonds consists of materials created, received, and collected by Mary Elizabeth Duff during her involvement in advocating for women and lesbian rights in BC. The records consist of documents, reports, and pamphlets that relate to various women’s organizations and women’s rights activism. The fonds also includes a significant amount of ephemera and promotional materials for various women centered events and activities.

The fonds consists of certificates and ephemera relating to Muncy's graduation: Victoria College (U.B.C.) certificate for B.Ed - Elementary, May 27, 1963; Victoria College Third Annual Congregation program, with Muncy listed on the last page; Victoria College Graduation 1963 (procedures for students), with Muncy's seat 81 entered by hand on page 9; and the Invitation to Baccalaureate Service, 26 May 1963.

The notebook consists of lecture notes for a Household Science course taken at the Summer School for Teachers, Victoria B.C. The notebook includes detailed notes about sewing, including sample patterns and embroidery samples; and notes on cookery, housewifery and cleaning, including several basic recipes.

The fonds consists of Hibberson's copies of Athletics Committee minutes, 1960-1962; College of Education Building Committee minutes, 11 October 1962; Campus Planning Committee minutes, 26 November 1962; correspondence primarily regarding athletics, 1957-1959; and a course outline for Education 102, "Principles of Teaching."

The fonds consists of Köster's research material on Baptist Noel Turner; 18th century society and politics, women authors, and correspondence of Roger Manley; plus minutes of meetings of the University of Victoria English Department, 1972-1981.
