The Graduate Student Society was established ca. 1967 to manage and support the interests of graduate students at the University of Victoria (B.C.).

The Victoria College Foundation was established by an act of the B.C. legislature in 1954 (S.B.C. c. 67) to manage donations to Victoria College. In 1963, when Victoria College became the University of Victoria, the act was amended (S.B.C. c. 61) to enable the foundation to manage donations to the University as well. In 1979, the name was formally changed to the University of Victoria Foundation. The Foundation is governed by a board, which includes the President and VP Finance of the University, and 2 members appointed by the UVic Board of Governors. As stated in the legislation, the purpose of the Foundation is to encourage financial support of the university through donations from individuals, corporations and foundations for scholarships, bursaries and other university purposes, and to promote a continuing interest in the university and in higher education generally. Accounting Services and the Development Office provide support services, and the University Secretary's Office is the secretariat.

The Registrar's Office was originally established in 1963 with responsibility for acting as university secretary, and student registration and records. In 1976, the functions were split into two offices: Registrar (secretary to Board and Senate), and Administrative Registrar (student records). In 1990 the name was changed to the University Secretary's Office, but the term "Registrar" is still often appended to the position. The office acts as secretariat to Board of Governors, Senate, Convocation, Faculties, University Review Committee; Foundation for UVic; ratifies non-corporate elections; retains legal opinions; Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Coordinator; and advisor to the President. The incumbents have been: Dorothy Cruickshank, 1963-1964; Ronald R. Jeffels, 1964-1967; Ron J.P. Ferry, 1968-1991; Cecilia Freeman-Ward, 1990-1991 (Acting); Sheila Sheldon Collyer, 1991-2004; and Julia Eastman, 2005-2018; and Carrie Andersen, 2018-present.
