The 1911 Irish census (available online) shows Thomas Kelly residing at the address in the scrapbook. His given occupation is an alderman in Dublin. He was influential in municipal affairs creating social housing, the public library and an art gallery. He was also a committed nationalist and the first president of the Old Dublin Society.

George Hedley Kempling was born June 1, 1884 in Toronto, Ontario and enlisted in Toronto, Ontario in August, 1915. Kempling served with the CEF. He survived the war and returned to Canada in 1919.
