Biographical history
David Robert Gray is a naturalist, researcher and filmmaker. He was born in Victoria, B.C.
David completed his BSc at the University of Victoria in 1967 and then a PhD from the University of Alberta in 1973, where he researched the behaviour of muskoxen.
David served as the museum scientist and curator at the Canadian Museum of Nature for 21 years. Following his position as curator, David became an independent researcher and filmmaker, founding his company Grayhound Information Services in 1993.
David was elected a Fellow of the Arctic Institute of North America in 1991 and works for both the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Canadian Museum of Civilization as a research associate.

The fonds consists of research materials, clippings, publications, BSc and PhD theses, notes, and correspondence from Gray's academic career; mostly relating to his time and the University of Victoria and his work on marmots.
