Biographical history

Dorothy Robertson served as a P.O. Wren Tel. S.O. (K) at "Y Station" (Wireless Observer Station), Gordon Head, 1944-1946. The staff of the "Y Station" were attached to the H.M.C.S. Givenchy, a shore establishment at the HMC Dockyard, Esquimalt. The "Y Station" site is now part of the University of Victoria (B.C.) campus.

The fonds consists of a typescript "I Go (Not) Down To the Sea in Ships: Recollections of a Canadian Wren", photocopies taken from Dorothy Robertson's scrapbook, plus photographs and negatives.
