Lina de Guevara is an actor, teacher and retired theatre company director. She was born in Chile, trained at the Instituto del Teatro (University of Chile) and emigrated to Canada in 1976. In 1988, she founded Puente Theatre in Victoria, British Columbia and was the artistic director of the company until her retirement in 2011. Her work as artistic director included directing various plays, such as “I Wasn’t Born Here,” “Sisters/Strangers” and “Canadian Tango.” Her work also included teaching workshops and classes at various Canadian institutions and participation in conferences, collaborations and festivals.
