Lectures

The accrual consists of typescripts of two lectures given by Saddlemyer at UBC in September 1995, as a part of the Cecil and Ida Green Visiting Professors lecture series. The first lecture was for the seminar "Women Writing and Working in the Canadian Theatre"; file includes a separate typescript list of what appears to be female Canadian playwrights. The second lecture was entitled "J. M. Synge, Lady Gregory and the early Abbey Theatre"; file includes a UBC itinerary for Saddlemyer's visit from Monday, September 25 to Saturday, September 30, 1995, a poster for the public events, and an invitation to the reception in honour of Saddlemyer on September 30, 1995 at Green College.

The fonds consists of records relating to Saddlemyer's research on "Letters to Molly: John Millington Synge to Maire O'Neill" (1971), "Lady Gregory: Collected Plays" (1971), "Anglo-Irish Writers, 1911-1969", and the W.B. Yeats Symposium. The fonds include typescripts, galley and page proofs, correspondence, and a complete set of the typescripts of essays presented at the Yeats Symposium.

The accrual consists of typescripts of seven lectures for "The Learning Stage" CBC 1965 and correspondence and contract with CBC radio producers 1964-65. Also includes typescript of article published in journal of SCR, Society for Cultural Relations with the U.S.S.R. 1959 and a 17 July 1959 letter from Secretary of SCR; two Moscow theatre programmes 1958; three Sadler's Wells theatre programmes of Moscow Art Theatre, London 1958 and Peter Daubeny souvenir programme.
