Clippings

Consists of clippings relating to royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939, and of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1951; Mayhew's activities as Minister of Fisheries and Ambassador to Japan, including photos of Grace Mayhew and other Mayhew family members.

Correspondence

Consists of correspondence relating to Mayhew genealogy; letters of congratulation to Mayhew on his election wins in 1937 and 1948 and his appointment as Ambassador to Japan in 1952; correspondence re. finances and with colleagues including Lester B. Pearson.

Diplomas, Certificates, Drawings

Consists of Rotary Club certificate, Hon. Doctor of Laws diploma from the University of Victoria, Hon. Life Member Certificates from the Victoria Liberal Association, and album of drawings of Victoria scenes by Edward Goodall, presented to Mayhew by the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, 1952.

Freeman of Victoria and Oak Bay

Consists of souvenir booklets containing programmes of installation ceremonies, clippings, related correspondence, copies of certificates and original certificate of Freeman of Victoria.

Grace Mayhew, Personal Records

Consists of diaries kept by Grace Mayhew, 1909, 1941-1954, including diaries of trips to Rome and Japan and engagement book; material relating to Mrs. Mayhew's funeral in September 1967, including programme for funeral service, related correspondence and clippings, and lists of sympathy cards and letters.

Consists of map of Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway Company's Land Grant, Vancouver Island, 1918.

Medals

Consists of medals given to Mayhew honouring the reign of George V, the coronations of George VI (1937) and Elizabeth II (1953), the centennial of Canadian Confederation (1967), the centennial of British Columbia as a colony (1958) and entering Confederation (1971), Mayhew as a Canadian pioneer (1967, 1971), and City of Victoria Public Service Medal (1948).

Photographs

Consists of photographs of Mayhew's activities as Minister of Fisheries and Ambassador to Japan, visits of British royal family and Japanese dignitaries, conferences, and portraits of Mayhew's colleagues, including Louis St. Laurent, Lester B. Pearson and William Lyon Mackenzie King.
