Autograph Letter Signed "A.C. Courbould", to Mr. Burnand, incorporating an original signed cartoon of Receiving Day at the Royal Academy in 1894, called "A Fact". His correspondent is Sir Francis C. Burnand (1836-1917), author, editor of Punch. The cartoon shows a porter receiving a canvas from an artist. "R.A. Porter to Stodge, delivering his picture: 'stonishing lot o Rubbish sent in this year Sir. Moo' damaging to th' [h]eys Sir.'"

"Hampstead Oct 6th, 1857 My dear Davie, You [?] got my notes before you left Bonchurch and I merely wrote this to say I am still improving and I hope [to?] think about Thursday week 'the 15th' I may be able to visit Manchester but I am by no means certain about it [then?] therefore you must not wait for me but I should like very much to see you on your return. Letter from Daniel Maclise to "My dear Sambach". Autograph Letter Signed "D. Maclise", to "My dear Samback", about his house, his preference for Chelsea, and cards for a forthcoming Private View. "But this Queen Anne old house seems to suit me in a kind of melancholy way and as my sister & her family live in the neighbourhood & vibrate here by turns and must be dislocated if I remove; I do no have to risk a change to the more agreeable regions of the groves of acacia - pastoral as they are - or the saintly precincts of the woods of St. John."
