Board records

Series consists of the records of the Board of Directors, arranged into seven sub-series: Correspondence, 1963-1988; Directors, 1969-1989; Protocol statements, 1981-1986; Meetings, 1966-1988, predominantly 1980-1988; Legal documents, 1964-1985; AGM reports and plans, 1966-1988; and Kipling photo bequest, [1966?]. Included within this series are records pertaining to the structure and membership of the Board; the incorporation of the Bastion Theatre Society and subsequent name change; reports, plans, and meeting minutes; and a photograph with an attached newspaper clipping on verso. Photograph features Rudyard Kipling with other thespians.

Series consists of records related to the Mallards’ activities with the Citizens Association to Save the Environment (C.A.S.E.), on the following environmental topics and issues: agriculture, air quality, aquaculture, bovine growth hormone (BGH), biotechnology, butterflies, climate change, energy, food and nutrition, gypsy moth, Heals Gun Range (noise control), health freedom and natural medicine, nitinol, pesticide, plant breeder’s rights, Saanich Inlet, sewage, Stockholm resolutions, sustainability and growth, transportation, war and resources, water, and west coast environmental law. Materials include correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, pamphlets and brochures, posters, newspaper clippings, handwritten notes, and photographs of events.

Fundraising records

Series consists of records pertaining to the Bastion Theatre Company of British Columbia's fundraising activities, including grant applications. The series is arranged into nine sub-series: Canada Council grants, 1973-1988; British Columbia grants, 1974-1988; Municipal grants, 1969-1988; Foundations, 1975-1986; Donors and members, 1965-1988; Corporate sponsors, 1969-1988; Special events, 1980-1988; Debentures and endowments, 1980-1984; and Fundraising Committee records, 1969-1988. Series consists of records relating to the general administrative operations of the Belfry Theatre. Includes annual reports, correspondence with the B.C. Arts Board, the B.C. Cultural Fund, the Canada Council and similar organizations, box office reports, and records relating to Canadian Actors Equity Association, fund raising, publicity and subscriptions.

B.C. environmental associations

Series consists of records related to the two B.C. environmental associations founded by Derrick and Gwen Mallard: the Society for Promoting Environmental Conservation (S.P.E.C.), in Vancouver, 1968, and Citizens Association to Save the Environment (C.A.S.E.), in Victoria, 1972. Textual materials include administrative records, correspondence, financial records, meeting notes, newsletters and newsmagazines, pamphlets, reports, proposals, and applications.
