The fonds consists of subject files of lecture notes and essays by Hofmann, and articles on ethnic and music studies; correspondence to Hofmann from Andre Renaud regarding Indian music and from R. Tully regarding Mexican Indians; catalogues, magazine articles, supply lists and publicity material; scrapbooks containing clippings, copies of Hofmann's lecture and radio programmes, photographs and essays; photographs of aboriginal people in Africa, Alaska, the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, and New Guinea; and stills from National Film Board of Canada productions.

Collection includes photographs of parades and drills taken by the Department of National Defence; photocopies of military order of the 1st Canadian Army during World War II; copies of intelligence tests administered by the Canadian Armed Forces; correspondence, maps, daily reports and copies of morale reports of the Canadian Militia Training Centre No. 111, Gordon Head Camp, together with some photos; booklet of poems by R.W. The fonds consists of letters from Percy ("Jack") Gooch to his parents in England, sent from his postings in England, the Crimea and India, regarding army life and the Crimean War. The fonds includes correspondence of Mrs. Edith Stephenson and other family members regarding personal and business matters.

The collection consists of Graves' autograph diary (1935-1939), with enclosures including letters from his children, photographs, clippings, and transcripts of poems, articles and letters; correspondence written by Graves to various people, including Isla Cameron, Selwyn Jepson, Aemilia Laracuen, Andrew Mylett, and Raphael Patai; poetry worksheets (1965-1970) and prose and poetry worksheets (1970); manuscripts including essays, reviews, forewords, prefaces, articles, lectures, and for the works "King Jesus", "The Anger of Achilles", "Hebrew Myths: The Book of Genesis", "Greek Gods and Heroes", "An Ancient Castle", "La Luna de los Perros", and "Juvenalia and Other Poems"; photographs; and drawings of Majorca by Paul Hogarth. The collection is arranged in lots as its various parts were acquired not as a single purchase but from different book dealers at different times. The collection also consists of a copy of a letter from Robert Graves to UBC chemist Lionel Harrison with sample pages from the poetry book it refers to. The collection also consists of a portrait of RG by John Ulbricht done in 1968.

The fonds consists of records documenting the administrative and operational activities of Gray's Publishing Ltd., including financial records, files relating to promotion and advertising, drafts of books published by Gray's and books initially accepted but never published; book lists and correspondence of the B.C. Department of Education; correspondence with authors, book and magazine publisher, lawyers and accountants; book publishing surveys conducted by Statistics Canada; guest books signed by attendees at publishing conferences; and material relating to bankruptcy including past due accounts and lists of creditors. There is correspondence and are manuscripts from about 70 authors. These include Lewis Clark, George Clutesi, Sister Mary Margaret Down, Godfrey Halloway, S.W. Jackman, Lawrence Jackson, Charles Lillard, Harry Marriott, Hazel O'Neail, Thead Pearse, Sarian Stump and Allen Wright.
