The fonds consists of a photocopy of Couchot's diary, 1808-1813, which includes recipes, poems, and an essay. Also included are copies of letters and documents which were enclosed. The original diary is in the possession of the donor of this fonds.

Correspondence includes 34 letters from former Prime Minister Robert Borden. Artwork often accompanies juvenilia verse and later children's stories; the media used include: ink on paper illustrations, pencil sketches, and watercolour drawings. Newspaper clippings include the author's columns, stories and poems. Also included are photocopies of 60 letters written by Audrey Brown to Professor Pelham Edgar (1929-47). The originals are in the Pelham Edgar collection at Victoria University, Toronto. The fonds consists of records produced by Skelton during the course of his life and career, documenting his activities as a poet, scholar, teacher, prose fiction writer, critic, editor and white witch. Records relate to activities including his co-founding of the University of Victoria Department of Creative Writing, his editorship of "The Malahat Review", his involvement with the Lotus Press in England and the Pharos Press and Sono Nis Press in Victoria, his collaboration with Ann Saddlemyer on the "Collected Works of J. M. Synge" and "The World of W. B. Yeats", a symposium and exhibition held in 1965 honouring the centenary of Yeats' birth, and his association with such writers as Wilfred Rowland Childe and Bonamy Dobree. Skelton's correspondents include T. S. Eliot, W.H. Auden, Robert Graves, Margaret Atwood, Earle Birney, Bonamy Dobree, Paul Theroux, Kathleen Raine and many others.

The collection consists of records documenting various branches of the Canadian Army. Collection includes photographs of parades and drills taken by the Department of National Defence; photocopies of military order of the 1st Canadian Army during World War II; copies of intelligence tests administered by the Canadian Armed Forces; correspondence, maps, daily reports and copies of morale reports of the Canadian Militia Training Centre No. 111, Gordon Head Camp, together with some photos; booklet of poems by R.W. Day of Sidney Camp; orders for Operation Overlord (D-Day) and other military orders of the 16th (Canadian Scottish) Infantry Battalion; and, miscellaneous reports (including those related to the Dieppe raid), brochures and reference material; Militia Orders (photocopy) 1899; "Secret War Diary" 1-31 May 1941, 6th Cdn. The fonds consists of birth and marriage certificates, household accounts and naturalization papers; diaries and notebooks kept by Else Seel, including prose fragments, poetry, notes, draft letters to and about Ezra Pound, and ideas for stories and poems; carbon typescripts of works by Jim Clark and H.E. von Wittgenstein; music and lyrics written by Seel and others; coloured drawings of Else Lübcke, Gloria Seel, landscape scenes and copy of Emily Carr's "D'Sonoqua"; correspondence with family, friends and fellow writers, including Ezra and Dorothy Pound; photographs and photo albums of Else Seel with family and friends in Germany and Canada; transcripts and carbons of Seel's prose work, including stories in German and variant drafts of "Kanadisches Tagebuch" (Canadian Diary), and book reviews written by Seel; transcript drafts of German and English poems by Seel and translations by Seel of other poems; transcripts and clippings of Seel's published poems and prose and reviews of her work; German books on history and literature, musical scores, audio tapes of works read by Seel and others, and tape of family gatherings; scrapbooks of visits to California and mementos of Victoria.

The fonds consists of a scrapbook, with photographs, kept by Sergeant Major Dempster of the 1st Battalion's training at Debert, Nova Scotia. It also includes a fonds of newspaper clippings from the First to the Second World War as well as Sergeant Major Dempster's correspondence and poetry.

The fonds consists of records of Herbert Thomas John Coleman, including worksheets of his poetry and prose (also including two poems and an essay by his brother, Rufus Arthur Coleman); Coleman family photographs and negatives, financial records and certificates; correspondence from Coleman to other family members; scrapbooks of Coleman's poems, clippings and brochures; academic journals containing essays by Coleman and copies of Coleman's illustrated books for children, containing holograph inscriptions and extensive annotations.

The fonds consists of personal, business and publishing correspondence (1953-1982), and also five handwritten letters to Arthur William Wallace (1931-1978); typescripts of O'Hagan's unpublished autobiography, proposed novels and unpublished short stories and articles; notes, variant drafts and page proofs of "The School-Marm Tree"; photographs of O'Hagan and other O'Hagan family members and friends; published articles about O'Hagan and his work, programmes of ceremonies, greeting cards, and bibliography of O'Hagan's works; audio tape interview with O'Hagan, conducted by E.J. Hart in Victoria. Also included is a small amount of Margaret Peterson (O'Hagan) material, consisting of a typescript of "My Life With Howard O'Hagan" and manuscript poetry drafts.
