The collection consists of: Barker's correspondence (1934-1964); news clippings (1933-1968); sketches (1963-1965); holographs and transcripts of essays (1937-1969); notebooks; holographs and typescripts of poetry (1954-1970); contracts (1933-1964); marked proofs; a heavily annotated copy of Elizabeth Smart's A Bonus (1977), and an annotated copy of Aristotle's Poetics etc., which Barker used for reviewing Ezra Pound's XXX Cantos.

The collection consists of manuscripts, typescripts, page proofs, galley proofs, correspondence and original illustrations of early books published by the Dolmen Press, comprising some of the work of about 25 writers. Included among these authors are Austin Clarke, Padraic Colum, Thomas Kinsella, and Richard Murphy. Also included are translations of earlier works in Irish and an edition of one of W. B. Yeats' works.

Lawrence Durrell collection

The collection consists of correspondence from Durrell to Alfred Perlès, William Woods, John Lehmann, Peter Russell, Tambimuttu (LD's notes on Dylan Thomas in the form of a letter), and others; also included are a corrected proof of "Balthazar"(sent to Perlès); a sketch (1959) by Eve Miller of Henry Miller, Alfred Perlès and Durrell; and, a watercolour by "Oscar Epfs" (pseud. of L. Durrell) done for a record sleeve "Songs of Greece" plus a Xmas card reproduced from the painting in 1964. Alfred Perlès later changed his name to Alfred Barret, and was often addressed by Durrell and Miller as Joe or Joey in their letters to him.

The fonds consists of records relating to Saddlemyer's research on "Letters to Molly: John Millington Synge to Maire O'Neill" (1971), "Lady Gregory: Collected Plays" (1971), "Anglo-Irish Writers, 1911-1969", and the W.B. Yeats Symposium. The fonds include typescripts, galley and page proofs, correspondence, and a complete set of the typescripts of essays presented at the Yeats Symposium.

The fonds consists of a photocopied typescript of Bowering's play "The Temple of the Stars" (ca. 1996). She based the character of Katherine Maltwood "on her work as a sculptor and her discovery of the Glastonbury "Temple of the Stars"". This play was performed at Kaleidoscope Theatre in 1996. Also included are a playscript and worksheets of "Anyone Can See I Love You" (1987); correspondence and playscripts of "Grandfather Was a Soldier" (1987); and typescripts and drafts of her novel "To All Appearances a Lady" (1989); plus an item of correspondence re: reissuing some of her published articles.

Also included is a set of corrected page proofs for Druid Craft (1971).

James Brigham fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence, creative and academic working papers, and materials relating to Lawrence Durrell and his circle. In addition to Brigham's published and unpublished works, the fonds also hold unpublished materials by other authors. The Durrell-related materials include Brigham's partial reconstruction of Durrell's working library from his home in Sommières where Brigham visited him. The library was also reconstructed from Brigham's research at the Centre de Rechercher de Lawrence Durrell, founded by Francoise Kestman-Durrell, which has since been sold to l'Université Paris X in Nanterre. The fonds also includes a
number of photographs.
