The accrual consists of constitution and bylaws, minutes, annual meeting records, committee records, membership records, advocacy records, financials, newsletters, correspondence, photographs, and club histories. Some files were donated as digital records.

Wager Between Stephen Hawking and Kip Thorne

The accrual consists of a photograph of a bet between Stephen Hawking and Kip Thorne. Transcription: "Therefore be it resolved that Stephen Hawking bets 1 year's subscription to 'Penthouse' as against Kip Thorne's wager of a 4-year subscription to 'Private Eye' that Cygnus X1 does not contain a black hole of mass above the Chandrasekhar limit" dated 7 December 1974.

General office

Accession consists primarily of administrative files and correspondence created and accumulated by the Malahat Review staff. Records include budgeting summaries, invoices, grant application material, manuscripts, posters for public readings, as well as correspondence with contributors, magazines, and other stakeholders.

Scheldt Pocket Subject Files

The file consists of a DVD of subject files related to the WWII German-occupied sector in the Netherlands designated KVA-A2 (KA1/4sten Verteidigung Abschnitt A2). The sector was called the Scheldt Pocket by Canadians during Operation Switchback. The largest part of this sector was located on the coast at West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. The sector included the villages of Retranchement, Cadzand, Nieuwvliet, Groede, Breskens, Hoofdplaat, Terneuzen, IJzendijke, Schoondijke, Oostburg, Zuidzande and Sluis.

Siberia Expedition Photographs

The accrual consists of photographs from an expedition to Siberia. Also includes diaries with transcription, photograph album, typescript of speech, letters, and edited transcriptions.

Correspondence, Maps

The accrual consists of holograph correspondence written primarily to his mother from the trenches and war front in Europe, together with a typescript transcription of the letters; a photograph of Macgowan with (apparently) two members of his battalion; programme for a Brussels Ball; clippings; and 11 maps used by Macgowan to direct his troops in battle. Most of the letters have been chronologically arranged by Macgowan; some letters are missing from the sequence, including a large gap 42-53.

James I, Document

The file consists of a court record from the beginning of the reign of James I. It passed through private hands. The document is in Latin court hand and notes the transfer of land from Thomas and Robert Whitney to a knight. Paleographic assessment needed.
