The fonds consists of: 1) correspondence - mainly with fellow writers including Patrick Lane, Susan Musgrave, George Payerle, Robin Skelton, and George Woodcock and with publishers; 2) manuscripts - mainly of his own poetry, drama, and prose, including a BC Bibliography of Literature; 3) notebooks - in which appear ideas, diary entries, drafts of work, etc.; and 4) audio cassettes (not yet listed).

The fonds consists of correspondence received by Montague in his capacity as editor plus a few carbons of his replies. Correspondents include Peadar O'Donnell, Liam Miller, Thomas Kinsella, and some of the other contributing writers: Aidan Higgins, Pearce Hutchinson, Val Iremonger, John Jordan, James Liddy, John McGahern, Brian Moore, Richard Murphy, James Plunkett, Richard Weber, Leslie Daiken, and Thomas McIntyre. There are also some miscellaneous letters and items; including letters from Samuel Beckett and Robin Skelton. Included with the correspondence are a few holograph notes, cuttings, manuscripts, pamphlets, and ephemera relating to The Dolmen Miscellany.
The fonds consists of film reels and videocassettes featuring artists Maxwell Bates, Ricki Ciccimarra, Leon Erickson, Jan and Helga Grove, Elza Mayhew, Myfanwy Pavelic, and Godfrey Stevens. The fonds also includes footage from the 1983 film "Ninstints" about the 1957 removal and preservation of totem poles from Anthony Island in the Queen Charlottes. Fonds also includes materials from Karl Spreitz’s professional and personal life, including a substantial number of records regarding the work and collaborations of fellow Limners and other artists.
The fonds consists of material relating to book reviews by Russell, including Russell's correspondence with Howard Gerwing and Russell's articles about George Cuomo, Robin Skelton, Stanley Cooperman, John Newlove, and Liam O'Flaherty; and, drafts of Russell's unpublished novels and short stories.
Fonds documents the activities of the Victoria Limners Society from 1972-2008 and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, financial records and society filings. It also contains records related to various group exhibits, including the Limners’ 25th anniversary exhibition in 1996, as well as records related to a book and video produced about the group. A small number of newspaper clippings, exhibition pamphlets, various editions of a booklet on the Limners Society artists and black and white photographs showing Limner members at exhibitions and meetings can be found in this fonds. This fonds has been arranged into into six series: 1) letters; 2) minutes; 3) financial records; 4) society filings; 5) 25th anniversary exhibition; and 6) publications and graphic materials.
Fonds consists of records of the Malahat Review (Issues 1 through 64) and includes typescripts of articles, short stories and poems submitted to the magazine; galley proofs, page proofs; minutes of meetings of the Malahat Review Editorial Board; general financial and administrative records relating to the magazine's founding by Robin Skelton and John Peter; correspondence of Skelton and Peter concerning submissions to the magazine, requests for submissions to special issues, the magazine's financial crisis in 1975 and appeals to subscribers for support; account books recording works submitted; photographs; press releases; newsclippings.
The fonds consists of correspondence generated in course of business along with invoices and inventories. Some correspondence, such as that of Kathleen Raine, includes extended exchanges beyond that required for business purposes. Additionally, some manuscript material acquired by the business is included: i.e. Patrick Creagh, Derek Mahon, and Patrick McCartan's typescripts of letters from W. B. Yeats and Oliver St. John Gogarty.
The fonds consists of manuscripts and typescripts of: Reference West Chapbooks and Hawthorne Anthologies; Reference West publications such as B.C. Profiles, The Preview, Fortnightly Preview, The Poetry Newsletter, and Reference West; and Reference West Bibliographical Checklists, Catalogues and Symposia.
