Fonds consists of the following series: Constitution; Minutes, 1955-95; Correspondence, 1969-95; Membership records, 1956-92; Newsletters, 1970-92; Programs, 1969-95; Publicity, 1970-98; Subject files, 1966-99; Financial records, 1955-95; and Scrapbook.

The collection consists of photographs created from different processes between the 1870s and 1920s. The older photographs are mostly unidentified portraits with the more recent photographs including scenery and landscapes. Some of the locations photographed are identifiable and include Niagara Falls, Kamloops, Hamilton, Duluth, the Steamer United Empire, and Del Rio Orchard in Oregon. Also includes photographs and photograph albums illustrating historical photograph techniques, including daguerreotype, tin type, and albumen prints.

The fonds primarily consists of records related to Red Jordan Arobateau’s life as an author, poet, and playwright. These include early and late drafts of written works. The fonds also contains some personal papers, photographs, audio-visual materials, and several artefacts.

The fonds documents Aiyyana Maracle life and work as performance artist and writer, creator of and participant in arts festivals, her committee and conference work, scholarship, teaching, Six Nations land rights activism, transgender visibility and health projects, and personal activities. Records consist of textual records, graphic material, analog and digital sound and video recordings, and objects. Objects are comprised of garments, masks, accessories, animal bones and skins, and miscellaneous objects used in performance art and art installations. The fonds is arranged into ten series: performance art, visual art, writing, scholarship, conferences and committees, Six Nations activism, two-spirit and transgender material, notebooks and loose notes, personal records, and bibliographic records.

The collection consists of transgender correspondence and periodicals.

The fonds consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence between Beardsley and various friends, fellow writers, and acquaintances (1967-2017). Also includes manuscripts and transcripts of poems, short stories, essays, as well as handwritten brainstorming notes written on hotel paper pads and airplane bags. Includes book reviews for the Times Colonist, correspondence and work regarding the Al Purdy-Doug Beardsley Papers collaborative work. Also includes handwritten journals kept by Beardsley from approximately 1969-2017. Additionally includes brochures and ephemera collected while travelling for inspiration, and material for a manuscript about Samuel de Champlain.

Fonds consists of research material for the following books: Emily Carr, A Biography (1979); Art at the Service of War: Canada, Art, and the Great War (1984); Making Culture: English Canadian Institutions and the Arts before the Massey Commission (1990); By a Lady: Celebrating Three Centuries of Art by Canadian Women (1992); Bill Reid: The Making of an Indian (2004); Portrait in Light and Shadow: The Life of Yousuf Karsh (2007). Also included are cassette tapes with interviews of Reid and Karsh; videotapes relating to Reid and Karsh; microfiche of pamphlets on Group of Seven; clippings of Tippett’s newspaper column “Women of a Certain Age”; collected research papers by others; and various other research materials.
