The fonds consists of typescripts and proofs of novels (1968-1971), television scripts (1964-1969), contracts (1966-1970) and correspondence (1963-1971) with agents and publishing and broadcasting companies.

The collection consists of correspondence from Durrell to Alfred Perlès, William Woods, John Lehmann, Peter Russell, Tambimuttu (LD's notes on Dylan Thomas in the form of a letter), and others; also included are a corrected proof of "Balthazar"(sent to Perlès); a sketch (1959) by Eve Miller of Henry Miller, Alfred Perlès and Durrell; and, a watercolour by "Oscar Epfs" (pseud. of L. Durrell) done for a record sleeve "Songs of Greece" plus a Xmas card reproduced from the painting in 1964. Alfred Perlès later changed his name to Alfred Barret, and was often addressed by Durrell and Miller as Joe or Joey in their letters to him.

Fonds consists of records of the Malahat Review (Issues 1 through 64) and includes typescripts of articles, short stories and poems submitted to the magazine; galley proofs, page proofs; minutes of meetings of the Malahat Review Editorial Board; general financial and administrative records relating to the magazine's founding by Robin Skelton and John Peter; correspondence of Skelton and Peter concerning submissions to the magazine, requests for submissions to special issues, the magazine's financial crisis in 1975 and appeals to subscribers for support; account books recording works submitted; photographs; press releases; newsclippings.

The fonds consists of her literary works, including manuscripts, drafts, and notes of stage plays, radio plays, short stories, film scripts, and unpublished novels; her research files; reviews of her literary and theatrical works; her business files, consisting mostly of correspondence; her personal affairs files, consisting mostly of correspondence with family, colleagues, friends, and other writers including Diana Hartog, Elisabeth Hopkins, Noel Hudson, Alison Lawrence, David McFadden, Jane Rule, Jean Rysstad, Libby Scheier, Cathy Smith, and David Watmough.

The fonds consists of correspondence and drafts of Alford's critical works, including his biography of George Egerton (Mrs. Mary Chavelita Bright), Alford's Ph.D. dissertation on the Rhymers' Club, drafts of works on Stephen Hudson (Sydney Schiff), George Eliot, Aldous Huxley and A. The fonds consists of records of Rufus Coleman relating to his research on the works of John Townsend Trowbridge, including copies of Trowbridge correspondence, photograph of Trowbridge with Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), off prints of articles written by Coleman about Trowbridge, notes and copy of Coleman's Ph.D. dissertation.
