R. N. Green-Armytage collection

The collection consists of a scrapbook containing theatre programmes of plays, in which the Green-Armytages appeared, and clippings. The clippings are concerned with: Roman Catholicism, mostly about the"Catholic Controversy" of 1913; the works, career, and trial of Oscar Wilde together with the subsequent career and trials of Lord Alfred Douglas. In addition, there is a small amount of material concerning Hilaire Belloc. Included are two clippings of Belloc poems, a handwritten letter from Belloc to the Bishop of Clifton, two handwritten letters from the Bishop of Clifton to R. N. Green-Armytage, and two handwritten letters from Belloc to Green-Armytage.

Gukhale of India together with carbon typescript pages from Gukhale's manuscript "Human Work"; clippings on Charles Darwin; miscellaneous material relating to the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Victoria Centre. Professor D.V. Gukhale was the Founder of the Canada Institute and "worker in the cause of empire solidarity and world peace".

The collection consists of a typed letter (photocopy) from Boulton to Rev. Errol Shilliday (St. Mary's Church), presenting a history of the Victoria Fusiliers; a typescript of Boulton's history, which includes photographs taken in St. Mary's Church of the Regimental Colour, The King's Colour, and the W.W. I memorial tablet; and photocopies of clippings from "The Victoria Daily Colonist" and "The Victoria Daily Times", which relate to the regiment.

Roger Senhouse fonds

The fonds consist of two typed letters from Bosanquet to Roger Senhouse plus a carbon typed letter to Bosanquet from Senhouse. Senhouse annotated Special Collections' copy of "Henry James at Work". Also included are a carbon typescript transcription of Henry James' dictation, a clipping of Bosanquet's article "The Country of Henry James" from Time and Tide, and photocopied clippings from TLS re: James and Bosanquet.

The collection consists of mimeographed scripts for two plays presented by the club at the Empire Theatre, Calcutta, India. The scripts come from the plays' original productions in England, several years earlier. Also included are programmes for the two plays, a clipping containing a review of one play, and a rehearsal list for the other play. The two plays are "Murder on the Second Floor" by Frank Vosper and "The Wind and the Rain" by Merton Hodge.

The fonds consists of correspondence received by Montague in his capacity as editor plus a few carbons of his replies. Correspondents include Peadar O'Donnell, Liam Miller, Thomas Kinsella, and some of the other contributing writers: Aidan Higgins, Pearce Hutchinson, Val Iremonger, John Jordan, James Liddy, John McGahern, Brian Moore, Richard Murphy, James Plunkett, Richard Weber, Leslie Daiken, and Thomas McIntyre. There are also some miscellaneous letters and items; including letters from Samuel Beckett and Robin Skelton. Included with the correspondence are a few holograph notes, cuttings, manuscripts, pamphlets, and ephemera relating to The Dolmen Miscellany.

George William Russell collection

The collection consists mostly of correspondence from Russell about his social and literary activities. The vast majority of this correspondence is to William K. Magee. There are a few letters to Charles Weekes, Robert Graves, and Miss Buxton. In addition, there is a letter from AE's son Diarmuid Russell to Magee re Magee's proposed biography of AE and a photocopy of a letter (transcript) to Judge Richard Campbell from Dudley Digges re Campbell's broadcast "Farewell to AE". Other materials include a few clippings about AE (obit etc.) and an undated b/w photo of AE.

Reginald Herbert Roy fonds

The fonds consists of records relating to Roy's university administrative activities and his research in aspects of military history, including Canadian history and Canada's involvement in World War I and World War II (particularly the Normandy campaign). Fonds includes photocopies of war diaries, files on various Canadian Army regiments and battalions (including the 31st Infantry Battalion, the 1st Battalion Regina Rifle Regiment, Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's), the Seaforth Highlanders, and the B.C. Dragoons), files on the Canadian Officers Training Corps UBC Contingent University of Victoria Detachment, files on Canadian defence and military policy, audio interviews with Canadian military officers, clippings and other material concerning South Africa and South-West Africa/Namibia, and material relating to the Fenians (1880-1881). Fonds also contains minutes, correspondence and reports relating to academic committees and associations (including the University of Victoria Alumni Association), records relating to the Canadian Confederation Centennial Committee of British Columbia Historic Commemorations Sub-Committee, and background material, notes and drafts for Roy's books. Fonds also consists of material collected by Roy including the papers (1943-1979) of John Laurie (RCAF Provost Marshall), Rev. E.G. Parker, and the Red Chevron Association of Vancouver Island. The fonds also consists of an audio cassette of music from the war years. The fonds also includes 46 issues of South African Soldier.
