The collection consists of a framed facsimile (or possible forgery) of The Absent-Minded Beggar, an 1899 poem by Rudyard Kipling. The poem was set to music by Sir Arthur Sullivan as part of an appeal to raise money for the Boer War.

Included are research materials, correspondences, and drafts for Doyle's biography of Richard Aldington, "Rachard Aldington: A Biography" (Macmillan, 1989); his biography of American poet William Carlos Williams, "William Carlos Williams and the American Poem" (Macmillan, 1982); his publication on James K. Baxter, "James K. Baxter" (Twayne Publishers, 1976); his "Earth Meditations" poetry; and manuscripts from the poetry journal "Tuatara" for which Doyle served as editor. University of Victoria related records include course notes,1981-88; and committee papers from the Committee on Alternatives for British Columbia (CABC),1983-1985 and the End the Arms Race Committee, 1983-86.

Fonds consists of records related to two major projects conducted by Aqua-Tex Scientific Consulting. Fonds has been arranged into series according to project: 1. Photopoint monitoring project of urban creeks on southern Vancouver Island consists of a final report and photographic field data collected for Blenkinsop Creek, Colwood Creek, Latoria Creek, Leeds Creek and Swan Trestle (1998); 2. the comprehensive water quality monitoring plan for the Kootenai River Basin of British Columbia, Montana and Idaho project consists of a final report (2000).

Collection consists of Treaty and protocol documents, and correspondence for the Minister's use. The correspondence Martin selected for inclusion in these volumes was limited to letters containing significant argument for and against the Columbia River Treaty.
The fonds consists of two series: Commission records series, and Report series. The Commission records series consists of notes of meetings, correspondence, rough notes, submissions, drafts reports, and student responses to the questionnaire. The Report series consists of three copies of a draft of the report revised by President Farquhar, Dr. MacLaurin, and Dr. Jennings; and an original copy of the final report, signed by all members of the committee, and autographed by President Farquhar.
