The collection consists of correspondence from Durrell to Alfred Perlès, William Woods, John Lehmann, Peter Russell, Tambimuttu (LD's notes on Dylan Thomas in the form of a letter), and others; also included are a corrected proof of "Balthazar"(sent to Perlès); a sketch (1959) by Eve Miller of Henry Miller, Alfred Perlès and Durrell; and, a watercolour by "Oscar Epfs" (pseud. of L. Durrell) done for a record sleeve "Songs of Greece" plus a Xmas card reproduced from the painting in 1964. Alfred Perlès later changed his name to Alfred Barret, and was often addressed by Durrell and Miller as Joe or Joey in their letters to him.
The fonds consists of a photocopied typescript of Bowering's play "The Temple of the Stars" (ca. 1996). She based the character of Katherine Maltwood "on her work as a sculptor and her discovery of the Glastonbury "Temple of the Stars"". This play was performed at Kaleidoscope Theatre in 1996. Also included are a playscript and worksheets of "Anyone Can See I Love You" (1987); correspondence and playscripts of "Grandfather Was a Soldier" (1987); and typescripts and drafts of her novel "To All Appearances a Lady" (1989); plus an item of correspondence re: reissuing some of her published articles.
The fonds consists of a scrapbook, with photographs, kept by Sergeant Major Dempster of the 1st Battalion's training at Debert, Nova Scotia. It also includes a fonds of newspaper clippings from the First to the Second World War as well as Sergeant Major Dempster's correspondence and poetry.

The Khutzeymateen series consists of correspondence, grizzly sanctuary proposals, maps, educational programming, press clippings, and office files. The Ecological Reserves series consists of maps and descriptions of B.C. reserves. The Reports series consists of reports on bear, timber, and ecological studies, management proposals, and other publications. The Photographs series consists of Khutzeymateen slides and prints. The Audiocassettes series consists of lectures. The Video series consists of videos about grizzlies in the Khutzeymateen and Canada, and wilderness issues.
The collection consists of Johnston's second typescript draft (as finally rejected) of "Shadowdance", later called "The Old Lady Says No!", with holograph corrections by W.B. Yeats and others. Also included are photocopies of several early drafts of this play, including the aforementioned. In addition, there is the author's proof copy, with corrections, of "The Brazen Horn, Lenaea 5" (1968) [probably for 2nd ed. 1969, amended to Lenaea 6]. The fonds also consists of correspondence from Denis and Betty Johnston to Bill and Mary Harbold from 1973-1982; a signed photograph of Johnston; photocopies of book reviews and book chapters re Johnston; a copy of Nine Rivers from Jordan with final corrections; and a copy of the libretto of Nine Rivers from Jordan.
The collection consists of letters (1960-1961) written by Hughes to Graham T. Ackroyd. There are also groupings of drafts of Hughes's "Dully Gumption's Addendum", "Fishing at Dawn", "New Moon" and "Out III: Remembrance Day". Additionally, there are drafts and fragments of other works (often on the versos of the previous drafts); several are by Sylvia Plath.

The fonds also consists of 8 negatives made from copies of original drawings of Hatley Park and 3 photocopies of sketches of a bungalow designed for Mrs. Maltwood.
