Fonds consists primarily of photographic prints, negatives and contact sheets of historic buildings and properties - preparatory material for Franklin’s co-authored publications on Victoria’s architecture. The fonds is arranged in four series: photographs - Victoria: A History in Architecture, 1843-1929; photographs - Exploring Victoria’s Architecture; architectural drawing - East School elevation (Lord Strathcona School), Vancouver, BC, 1897; and publications and printed matter.
Subseries consists of photographs inside a green photograph album and photographs rehoused from a blue binder, chiefly from Moore's military service. Subjects include military bands, Moore's fellow soldiers and bandmates, naval ships, scenes from Asian countries visited by the Royal Marines Band after WWII including the devastation of Hiroshima, and Moore's family upon arriving in Canada. Many photographs have been annotated with descriptions and dates.
Subseries consists of textual records including official documents, certificates of education, correspondence, a resume, military narratives and reminiscences, newspaper clippings including the VE-Day edition of the Daily Times, architectural drawings by Moore, and military membership cards.
File contains correspondence and documents regarding Charles Moore's time in, and retirement from the Royal Canadian Navy. Documents include Declaration of Intended Place of Residence on Release (1971), Statement of Understanding (To be completed by personnel being released from the Regular Force) (1971), and Application For, and Report of Result of, Professional Examination (1960).
