The fonds consists of records generated and utilized by the 16th Battalion (The Canadian Scottish). The fonds is arranged into 11 alphabetically organized series. These series include aerial photographs of the Western Front, information of a World War One operation at the city of Lens, orders issued to the Battalion, personnel records, photographs, publications (including early editions of "The Brazier"), reports, scrapbooks, information on training, minutes of meetings of the Veterans Association of the 16th Battalion, and a design for the 16th Battalion war memorial.
The fonds consists of regimental orders Feb. 14-Dec. 16, 1914; nominal roll 1914-1916. Also contains nominal roll of 16th Battalion 1915-1919; nominal roll on leaving Victoria with Cyrus Peck and William Duncan items.

The fonds consists of an oversized volume containing a copy of a waterworks grant for Preston, Lancashire; indentures for Robert Abbatt. Also includes courtship correspondence between Jonathan Abbatt and Mary Dilworth, plus photocopies and floppy disks of same. The letters chronicle the courtship, discussions of faith, local events, shared sentiments, etc.
