Ann Kipling fonds

The fonds features an extensive collection of art journals, exhibition catalogues, news articles, and gallery publications featuring Kipling’s art and interviews across her entire professional career. Nearly every exhibition and publication Kipling participated in is represented through gallery paraphernalia, photo slides of gallery artwork, newspaper and magazine issues, and official correspondence with institutions and publishers. The vast majority of the collection is correspondence with Canadian art institutions and personal correspondence with other members of the Canadian art community such as Gordon Smith, Robin Laurence, Chris Varley, Ian Thom, and Joan Lowndes. Also included are photos of the artist, award statues and certificates, and a large collection of art slides. As well, there is a wealth of photos of her family, friends, and home, which were her main artistic inspirations, and documents related to the artistic career of her husband Leonhard Epp.

The fonds is arranged in series that compile different aspects of both her professional and personal life. Correspondence with Institutions consists of letters to various galleries, museums, and other heritage institutions, while Correspondence with Art Professionals consists of letters written to Kipling's close network in the Canadian art community. Art Services and Supplies consists of correspondence and catalogues related to Kipling's art supplies. Promotional Materials consists of material related to Kipling's exhibitions, art shows, and press releases, and is arranged in the following subseries: Serials, which consists of magazines and exhibition catalogues; Press Releases, which consists of newspaper clippings and articles; and Photos and Audiovisual Materials, which consists of promotional photos of both Kipling and her art, as well as some video interviews. Art Slides consists of slides of artwork used as samples of Kipling's work. Personal Belongings consists of Kipling's personal materials and has a variety of materials dedicated to her early life, correspondence with friends and family, and family history; it also consists of the subseries Photos, which consists of family and farm photos. Bau-xi Court Case consists of correspondence, legal documents, and evidence related to Kipling's court case with the Bau-xi Gallery, and Leonhard Epp consists of materials related to the career and life of Kipling's partner. Miscellaneous consists of some personal documents related to Kipling's goat farming, social network, and work for art charities. The Objects series consists of some of Kipling's awards and personal objects related to her life.

Mark Timmings fonds

The fonds is comprised of "Wetland Scenario" (2015), an illuminated musical score co-composed by Stephen Morris and Mark Timmings. The illuminated score consists of 34 digital prints, 40 x 60 cm each, printed on fine art paper (Baryta Matt Agave) and laminated on 2 mm aluminum Dibond. Wetland Senario is part of the Wetland Project by Brady Marks, Mark Timmings and Stephen Morris. The prints were produced by the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris in conjunction with the exhibition WETLAND PROJECT / Le Marais de ṮEḴTEḴSEN : Une immersion sonore dans la biodiversité de l’île Saturna, a sound immersion into the biodiversity of Saturna Island, curated by Catherine Bédard and presented from April 22 to May 20, 2023.

The collection consists of correspondence with, and relating to, Margaret Peterson regarding paintings purchased by George Piternick. Correspondents include Peterson, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, and a film production company making a documentary about the artist, and others, dating from 1967-1968. The four paintings by Peterson owned by Piternick were donated to the UBC Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery by Anne Piternick.
