Correspondence

The file consists mainly of correspondence (1942-63) from various writers and contributors to the Aylesford Review. Included among the correspondents are: Terence I.F. Armstrong (John Gawsworth), John Betjeman, Shelagh Delaney, Joseph Delteil, Eleanor Farjeon, Graham Greene, Alyse Gregory (widow of L. Powys), Arthur Machen, John Cowper Powys, Stevie Smith, Una Troubridge, Sylvia Townsend Warner and Louis Wilkinson. Also included in the fonds is a small amount of earlier correspondence from G.K. Chesterton to Father Vincent McNabb (1926) and from Eric Gill to Clare Pepler (1922-25). plus an essay on Una Troubridge’s letters to Father Brocard Sewell by Brenda Austin Smith.

Sound tape cassettes

Series consists of one sound recording (audio cassette tape) of advertisements for "Maggie & Pierre," broadcast on CFAX radio, Victoria.

Series consists of black and white photographs, contact sheets, negatives and colour slides of actors, directors and productions; and posters advertising productions.

General files

Series consists of records relating to the general administrative operations of the Belfry Theatre. Includes annual reports, correspondence with the B.C. Arts Board, the B.C. Cultural Fund, the Canada Council and similar organizations, box office reports, and records relating to Canadian Actors Equity Association, fund raising, publicity and subscriptions.

Financial records

Series consists of financial records for the period of 1976-1988. Materials include account books, budgets, bank statements, operating plans, interim financial reports, petty cash, payroll, insurance records, records relating to taxation and charitable donations, and related correspondence.

Production records

Series consists of records from productions by the Bastion Theatre Company of British Columbia, arranged into six sub-series: Mainstage productions, 1975-1988; Prompt scripts, 1965-1988, predominantly 1974-1988; Play scripts, 1980-1988; Studio productions, 1976-1988; Production planning, 1965-1988; and Photographs, 1963-1988. Included in this series are scripts, musical scores, correspondence, contracts, production notes, applications, budgets, schedules, floor plans, photographs, and slides.

Fundraising records

Series consists of records pertaining to the Bastion Theatre Company of British Columbia's fundraising activities, including grant applications. The series is arranged into nine sub-series: Canada Council grants, 1973-1988; British Columbia grants, 1974-1988; Municipal grants, 1969-1988; Foundations, 1975-1986; Donors and members, 1965-1988; Corporate sponsors, 1969-1988; Special events, 1980-1988; Debentures and endowments, 1980-1984; and Fundraising Committee records, 1969-1988. Included in this series are reports, correspondence, grant applications, meeting minutes, and materials from fundraising events and efforts, including cookbooks and promotional photographs.
