Series consists of materials generated by the Seaweed Inventory Project, a major research project conducted by Dr. Austin and Robert Adams, research assistant and colleague. In 1972 and 1974, the project launched a survey of the seaweed along BC coastal waters. The series is complete record of the research project and includes original data, vegetation maps, reports, films and photographs, correspondence, field notes, reference literature, and other materials reflective of the activities of the researchers and project outcomes. Series consists of four sub-series:

Included within this series are records pertaining to the structure and membership of the Board; the incorporation of the Bastion Theatre Society and subsequent name change; reports, plans, and meeting minutes; and a photograph with an attached newspaper clipping on verso. The fonds consists of two accessions of material primarily related to Alan Drengson’s academic career. These include drafts of papers, books, and poems, as well as university course materials, grant applications, professional correspondence, and documents for The Ecostery Foundation and The Trumpeter Journal. The fonds also includes some personal records.

Series consists of records from productions by the Bastion Theatre Company of British Columbia, arranged into six sub-series: Mainstage productions, 1975-1988; Prompt scripts, 1965-1988, predominantly 1974-1988; Play scripts, 1980-1988; Studio productions, 1976-1988; Production planning, 1965-1988; and Photographs, 1963-1988. Included in this series are scripts, musical scores, correspondence, contracts, production notes, applications, budgets, schedules, floor plans, photographs, and slides.

The fonds consists primarily of drafts and research materials used to write his book "Frontier Theatre: A History of Nineteenth Century Theatrical Entertainment in the Canadian Far West and Alaska", published in 1982. Fonds includes musical scores and librettos, programs, photographs, scrapbook and four unpublished plays: "Murder Pattern," 1936; "Ascend as the Sun"; "Earth Song", by Herman Voaden; and "The Dragon", by Bertram Brooker.

Fonds consists of research data collected for three book projects on music history in Canada, B.C., and Victoria, including photocopies or slides of 1850-1950 newspaper articles, reviews, retrospective articles, and biographical data. Also included are some original programs from the period.
