The fonds consists of textual records, photographs and ephemera from Charles Moore's service in the English Royal Marines Band and the Royal Canadian Naden Band in Esquimalt, B.C. The fonds is divided into four series: textual records, ephemera, photographs, and sheet music. Textual records include official documents and certificates, correspondence, a resume, military narratives, newspaper clippings, and drawings. Ephemera includes medals, badges, clothing and accessories, souvenirs, small music equipment, a cassette, and diary. Photographs include a green photograph album and photographs rehoused from a blue binder, depicting subjects such as military bands, Moore's fellow soldiers and bandmates, naval ships, scenes from countries visited by the Royal Marines Band after WWII, and Moore's family. Sheet music includes arrangements by Moore for instruments and conductor, as well as his original composition, Original March.
