BC Project Research Group fonds

The fonds includes the research records and documents of the research group created and collected in the course of the project, which include theses, essays, interviews, papers, articles, news paper clippings, press releases, statistics, reports, acts and bills, oral history interview transcripts and tapes, and other records relating to the subject area of the project. The files also include transcripts of interviews with B C politicians and government administrators and research material gathered from a number of sources. Subjects include aboriginal issues, economic development, education, energy, environment, health, labour, land use, the legislative process, federalism, forestry, political parties, public service, and women's experience. The fonds consists of the following series: Catalogue series,1978-1983, Data Bank series, 1952-1983, and Oral history interview series, 1964-1987. All files were assigned a Data Bank Number by project staff (DB No. 1-1058). Several unnumbered files have been assigned numbers by Archives staff (DB No. 1059-1066).

The fonds consists of minutes (1952-1962), files of E.P. Thomas, Secretary, and P. Sinkinson, Treasurer, membership list, memos to members, press releases, ledger book (1952-1962), membership cards and receipts (1956-1960), canvasser's records (1956-1958), Treasurer's Reports (1961); correspondence (1962); and records relating to the Saanich and the Islands NDP Constituency Association and the Saanich Commonwealth Society.

Mercy Anne Coles fonds : 1864

The fonds consists of a typescript of Coles' 1864 diary, in which she describes various social activities connected with the conference, her travels to and from Quebec, and meeting people such as John A. MacDonald and Thomas D'Arcy McGee. Also included is a copy of a letter to Mrs. George Coles from Lady Bannerman, wife of Sir Alexander Bannerman, Governor of Prince Edward Island. The front of the manuscript is inscribed, "Mrs. Bruce Marr, Elmira, Ontario."

Saanich Conservative Association fonds

The fonds consists of notebook containing holograph minutes (1941-1949) of the association, with enclosures including note regarding objections to pooling in upcoming convention, 1946, resolutions protesting the granting of amnesty to deserters, 1946; and resolution against the further entry of Chinese to Canada, 1947.
