The fonds consists of records documenting Bishop's career as Head of the Department of English at the University of Victoria and the events surrounding the tenure crisis of the mid-1960s, as well as his activities on various university committees and off-campus organizations. Fonds includes correspondence, minutes of meetings, reports, copies of legislation relating to education, addresses, speeches and essays, booklets, broadsides, college calendars, newsclippings and genealogical material on the Bishop family.

The fonds consists of records pertaining to the University of Victoria's Faculty of Arts and Science, Joint Faculties, Faculty Association, Faculty of Graduate Studies, and various university committees and department head meetings. Records include minutes, notes, reports, student lists, committee recommendations, curriculum evaluation forms, and student registration statistics. Fonds includes copies of Climenhaga's curriculum vitae and some published articles. Fonds also includes records relating to the Vancouver Island Hockey League and its predecessor, the Esquimalt and District Amateur Hockey League, including correspondence, minutes, financial statements and rule books.

Fonds consists of records predominately related to various aspects of Doyle's professional life as a published poet and literary critic, as well as his teaching and committee work at the University of Victoria. Included are research materials, correspondences, and drafts for Doyle's biography of Richard Aldington, "Rachard Aldington: A Biography" (Macmillan, 1989); his biography of American poet William Carlos Williams, "William Carlos Williams and the American Poem" (Macmillan, 1982); his publication on James K. Baxter, "James K. Baxter" (Twayne Publishers, 1976); his "Earth Meditations" poetry; and manuscripts from the poetry journal "Tuatara" for which Doyle served as editor. University of Victoria related records include course notes,1981-88; and committee papers from the Committee on Alternatives for British Columbia (CABC),1983-1985 and the End the Arms Race Committee, 1983-86.

The fonds consists of Hibberson's copies of Athletics Committee minutes, 1960-1962; College of Education Building Committee minutes, 11 October 1962; Campus Planning Committee minutes, 26 November 1962; correspondence primarily regarding athletics, 1957-1959; and a course outline for Education 102, "Principles of Teaching."
