The fonds consists of four primary series: Michel Butor research files, Jeanne Hyvrard research files, French feminist writings research files, and French lesbian novels research files. The Butor series consists of correspondence, research files, works of Waelti-Walters, and reference material such as articles and clippings. The Hyvrard series consists of Hyvrard manuscripts, correspondence, research files, literary criticism and translations of Hyvrard. The feminist writings and the French lesbian novels series consist of drafts, primary sources, secondary sources, research notes, correspondence, and bibliographies. All the series contains some teaching files and reference material.

The collection consists of a printed invitation to Auden's birthday party in 1961 plus carbon and Xerox copies of typed letters and holographic notes from Pulitzer Prize administration to Auden listing books sent to him as a member of the Poetry Jury.

Bronson Alcott; notebooks and journals kept by Alford, with holograph notes on his works of fiction and autobiography as well as fragments of stories; drafts of Alford's novel "A Garden Enclosed", drafts of short stories; and drafts of Alford's autobiographical works "In Pursuit of Any Arse", "Time Exposure", and "Travelling Hopefully: A Simple Record of Unsentimental Journeys to the Okanagan and Thereabouts, 1977-1978", including photographs; and correspondence with Howard Gerwing (UVic SC Librarian), 1984-1990.
Alford, Norman
The collection consists of letters from A.R. Orage, 1933-1934, manuscripts by Armstrong for "Focus" 21, "The Literary Digest", etc. (1945-1970) plus a review, a note, and a mss for "The Poetry Review" by G.S. Fraser, 1950-1952. Also included in the collection are enclosures from "Ten Contemporaries" [1932 & 1933]. These enclosures consist of research material and correspondence: re the publication of the two volumes, and the writers included in them.
