The fonds consists of: research notes; correspondence; census material; manuscript photocopies, transcriptions and proofs produced in the production of The Winding Stair (1929): Manuscript materials for The Cornell Yeats (1995) published by Cornell University Press. In addition to material on Yeat's The Winding Stair (1929), the research includes related material from The Winding Stair and Other Poems (1933) and Words for Music Perhaps. Also included is a set of corrected page proofs for Druid Craft (1971).
The collection consists of two letters from the poet to George and Florence Noyes concerning his preparation of foreign language dictionaries for the U.S. Army and two from Patty Bacon (wife) on personal matters. All the correspondence is from 1941, the year Leonard Bacon won the Pulitzer prize. Also included is a clipping (obit of Martha Bacon, ie. "Patty") from 1967.
The fonds consists of a letter to Saul Bellow from Loretta Barrett, Anchor Press (Doubleday), requesting his comments on "The Truants" by William Barrett.
The collection consists mainly of a photocopied typescript of Aram Saroyan's "Cloth: an electric novel". Also included are a handwritten letter to Tom Clark re "Cloth" and mentioning Ted Berrigan, Paul Carroll, Steve Katz, and Philip Whalen; a corrected typescript signed by Tom Clark which seems to be intended as a preface to "Cloth"; clippings from "Poetry (Chicago)" of Aram Saroyan selection of material from Louis Zukovsky; and a clipping from Rolling Stone? of a picture of Randy Newman.
