The Newspapers include: a complete set of the Western Advocate, 1958-1959, and a complete set of front covers of the Cowichan Pictorial, 1966-1978.

The fonds consists of manuscripts published and unpublished, which include juvenilia, poetry and story drafts, and the author's annual holograph gatherings of completed poems. The fonds includes public addresses, children's stories, periodical off prints, page proofs of A Dryad in Nanaimo, reviews, family and biographical items, photographs, certificates, recordings of poems set to music, a printers plate, biographical material, and correspondence. Correspondence includes 34 letters from former Prime Minister Robert Borden. Artwork often accompanies juvenilia verse and later children's stories; the media used include: ink on paper illustrations, pencil sketches, and watercolour drawings. Newspaper clippings include the author's columns, stories and poems. Also included are photocopies of 60 letters written by Audrey Brown to Professor Pelham Edgar (1929-47). The originals are in the Pelham Edgar collection at Victoria University, Toronto. The fonds also consists of: newspaper clippings and biographical material re Audrey Alexandra Brown and her family; correspondence between Brown and Pelham Edgar; correspondence between Brown and Earle Birney; correspondence from Martin Burrell to Pelham Edgar re Brown; manuscripts by Brown.

The fonds consists firstly, of correspondence from many well known writers such as Margaret Atwood, Doug Beardsley, bill bissett, George Bowering, Marilyn Bowering, Robert Bringhurst, Barry Callaghan, Lorna Crozier, William Deverell, Timothy Findley, John Glassco, Robert Harlow, David Homel, Patrick Lane, Dennis Lee, Charles Lillard, Dorothy Livesay, Susan Musgrave, John Newlove, Sharon Olds, Michael Ondaatje, P.K. Page, George Payerle, Al Purdy, Joe Rosenblatt, Jane Rule, Jane Urqhuhart, and Sean Virgo. It is arranged in alphabetic series. Secondly, there are prose and poetry manuscripts. These are roughly divided into poetry and prose, with some large sections of late drafts intact. Thirdly, there are materials relating to the Writer's Union of Canada, Writers in Electronic Residence, political press clippings, material about his libel trial, and miscellaneous printed material.

The collection consists of records documenting various branches of the Canadian Army. Collection includes photographs of parades and drills taken by the Department of National Defence; photocopies of military order of the 1st Canadian Army during World War II; copies of intelligence tests administered by the Canadian Armed Forces; correspondence, maps, daily reports and copies of morale reports of the Canadian Militia Training Centre No. 111, Gordon Head Camp, together with some photos; booklet of poems by R.W. Day of Sidney Camp; orders for Operation Overlord (D-Day) and other military orders of the 16th (Canadian Scottish) Infantry Battalion; and, miscellaneous reports (including those related to the Dieppe raid), brochures and reference material; Militia Orders (photocopy) 1899; "Secret War Diary" 1-31 May 1941, 6th Cdn. Infantry Brigade; 102 Battalion, 7th platoon roll book, 1896.

The fonds consists of documents relating to Celu Amberstone's writing career. Records consist of poetry, playscripts, children's prose, notes for readings, publishing contracts, review clippings, correspondence, and acceptance and rejection letters from publishers and editors. The fonds also includes a proof copy of The Dreamer's Legacy by Celu Amberstone, and House of Commons Special Committee on the Disabled and Handicapped publication, "Native Population: Follow-up Report" (1981), which features a profile of Amberstone/Barbara Smith. The fonds is also comprised of digital text files of Amberstone's writings and e-book versions of her publications.

The fonds consists of: 1) correspondence - mainly with fellow writers including Patrick Lane, Susan Musgrave, George Payerle, Robin Skelton, and George Woodcock and with publishers; 2) manuscripts - mainly of his own poetry, drama, and prose, including a BC Bibliography of Literature; 3) notebooks - in which appear ideas, diary entries, drafts of work, etc.; and 4) audio cassettes (not yet listed).

The fonds consists of Livesay's files on Canadian Literature, 1967-1974; teaching files on Canadian authors used for her Canadian literature courses, 1967-1974; and audio tapes of her interviews with various poets, 1964-1974, including Jean Crawley, Alan Crawley, Michael Crawley and Pierre Coupey, as well as a reading of poems for children by Red (Richard Stanley) Lane.

The fonds consists of birth and marriage certificates, household accounts and naturalization papers; diaries and notebooks kept by Else Seel, including prose fragments, poetry, notes, draft letters to and about Ezra Pound, and ideas for stories and poems; carbon typescripts of works by Jim Clark and H.E. von Wittgenstein; music and lyrics written by Seel and others; coloured drawings of Else Lübcke, Gloria Seel, landscape scenes and copy of Emily Carr's "D'Sonoqua"; correspondence with family, friends and fellow writers, including Ezra and Dorothy Pound; photographs and photo albums of Else Seel with family and friends in Germany and Canada; transcripts and carbons of Seel's prose work, including stories in German and variant drafts of "Kanadisches Tagebuch" (Canadian Diary), and book reviews written by Seel; transcript drafts of German and English poems by Seel and translations by Seel of other poems; transcripts and clippings of Seel's published poems and prose and reviews of her work; German books on history and literature, musical scores, audio tapes of works read by Seel and others, and tape of family gatherings; scrapbooks of visits to California and mementos of Victoria.

The collection consists firstly, of poetry manuscripts and proofs including "Personae", "Lustra", and "Canzoni and Ripostes"; secondly, a prose manuscript of "That Audience, or the Bugaboo of the Public"; and thirdly, of correspondence to Elkin Mathews (publisher), St. John Adcock, Harry and Caresse Crosby (Black Sun Press), Louis Zukofsky, The British Union of Fascists, T. S. Eliot, Montgomery Belgion, Michael Harald, Clifford Gessler, and others.
