The fonds consists of a photocopy of Couchot's diary, 1808-1813, which includes recipes, poems, and an essay. Also included are copies of letters and documents which were enclosed. The original diary is in the possession of the donor of this fonds.
The collection consists of a sketchbook with drawings largely of churches, country houses, and other architectural subjects. It includes a few loose and pasted-in sketches at the back. There is a poem of unknown derivation under the first sketch in the book, preceded by an index to 62 sketches dated 1821-1824. Later sketches are pasted in or loose.
The collection consists of a handwritten poem "Past and Present", signed by Scott at the end, and dated from internal evidence. The poem is accompanied by a handwritten note to Edward L. Blanchard (1820-1889).

The fonds includes public addresses, children's stories, periodical off prints, page proofs of A Dryad in Nanaimo, reviews, family and biographical items, photographs, certificates, recordings of poems set to music, a printers plate, biographical material, and correspondence. Correspondence includes 34 letters from former Prime Minister Robert Borden. Artwork often accompanies juvenilia verse and later children's stories; the media used include: ink on paper illustrations, pencil sketches, and watercolour drawings. Newspaper clippings include the author's columns, stories and poems. Also included are photocopies of 60 letters written by Audrey Brown to Professor Pelham Edgar (1929-47). The originals are in the Pelham Edgar collection at Victoria University, Toronto. The collection consists of a framed facsimile (or possible forgery) of The Absent-Minded Beggar, an 1899 poem by Rudyard Kipling. The poem was set to music by Sir Arthur Sullivan as part of an appeal to raise money for the Boer War.
The collection consists of a handwritten letter to Henry Davray (1873-1944) concerning the foreign publication of Symons ' books and a holograph short critical assessment of Robert Browning.
