The accrual consists of manuscripts and correspondence files. It documents Murray’s personal and professional life and contains textual records as well as audio-visual material and records in electronic form. Records relate to Murray’s career as a writer and university lecturer in British Columbia. Also included are records created while Murray attended university in the United States of America, Canada, and England.

Arranged into seven series: Poetry, Plays, Short Stories/Essays/Articles, Novels, Correspondence and Ephemera, Coursework, Teaching Material, Audio-Visual Material, as well as Electronic Material. These series contain records reflecting Murray’s activities as an author, student, and teacher. Series containing audio-visual and electronic material correspond to each of Murray’s activities. Series relating to Murray’s literary career include Poetry, Plays, Short Stories, Essays, and Articles, as well as Novels. Series Coursework contains records pertaining to Murray’s education and series Teaching Material includes records reflecting Murray’s work as a lecturer. Correspondence and Ephemera series contains records relating to various aspects of Murray’s life. Contains drafts of poems, novels, articles, essays, plays, and short stories for both published and unpublished material.
