Biographical history

Richard Powers obtained his MA (1965) and Ph.D. (1967) degrees from Claremont (California) Graduate School. He began teaching in the Department of Political Science at the University of Victoria as an instructor in 1966, attaining the rank of Associate Professor in 1973. His main areas of interest were U.S. foreign policy, international relations, international organizations, and university governance and affairs. He was active in the formation of the UVic Faculty Association, and Tenure Document Committee.
