Fonds consists of records related to Alan Austin’s activities as an educator and phycologist, including materials generated through major research projects and student projects, arranged into four series: 1. Seaweed Inventory Project; 2. Victoria Phenology Project; 3. Teaching and student material; and 4. Aquatic ecology projects. The Seaweed Inventory Project (SIP), in particular, is a valuable, detailed record and baseline survey of a substantial part of the coastline of BC, and the vegetation and biota (thus measurable on a global scale) supported at the time of the surveys done in 1972 and 1974. These data stand as a permanent record against which any coastal changes can be compared and measured. The sedentary, attached nature of coastal biota makes it particularly responsive to, and thus a sensitive indicator of changes in their environment. Forces of change include oil spills, toxic spills, runoff from land developments, marina construction, and natural catastrophic events. Series 1 has been arranged into four sub-series: SIP reports; SIP films and photographs; SIP correspondence and field notes; and SIP reference literature.

The fonds consists of approximately sixty oversized folders of architectural plans and drawings, as well as additional materials including oversized photographic prints. Also includes Skeleem Village drawings; a model of the MacLaurin Building; a watercolour of the MacLaurin Building by Allan Edwards; concept drawings; architectural proposals and reports, notes and related materials.

The file consists of photocopies and reproductions of photographs of Anne Yeats. Also includes original prints, negatives and slides.

The collection consists of six items:
1) En'am-i Serif [Turkish calligraphic manuscript].- consists of several chapters of the Qur'an, Arabic and Ottoman and Turkish prayers, calligraphic rondels and seals, hilyes, and miniature paintings of the Kaba, the Prophet's Mosque at Medina, his personal belongings such as his cloak, prayer beads etc., his hand and foot print and similar images. Special Collections had slides made of this manuscript. A second set of these slides is available in the Slide Library (History in Art Dept.).

2) al-Jazri, Mohammed. - consists of a single leaf from an 18th century religious manuscript, "Hassi Hasin" (Prayer and Contemplation). It is written in Arabic (probably in Turkey) in the Nashki hand. It may be an Ishmaeli text. It is illuminated, gilded and decorated with a floral motif.

3) Firdawsi. Shah Nameh. consists of a single leaf from an 18th century copy.

4) Koran. India. 17th -18th century?

5) Koran. China. 17th -18th century?

6) Maghribi Qur'an (Koran) Bifolium. Late 10th or 11th century. Kufic script.

The fonds consists of materials that are reflective of the functions and activities of the Bastion Theatre Company of British Columbia, previously operating as the Bastion Theatre Studio and the Victoria Theatre Studio, arranged into eight series: Board records, 1963-1989; Employment records, 1968-1988; Education records, 1965-1988; Marketing records, 1965,1969, 1974-1988; Administrative records, 1963-1988; Financial records, 1963-1989; Fundraising records, 1965-1989; and Production records, 1965-1989.

The fonds consists of records documenting the administrative and operational activities of the Belfry Theatre, arranged into the following series: Financial records, 1976-1988; General files, 1976-1989; Show files, 1977-1987; Newsletters, 1981-1986; Programmes and pamphlets, 1976-1984; Graphic materials, 1981, n.d.; and Sound tape cassettes, 1981.

This fonds consists of materials Ross accumulated during his academic career, predominantly from when he worked at UVic. These records include drafts of his papers and publications, slides and lecture material, research notes, and records related to his roles in the Geography Department.
