The accrual consists of an oversized volume containing a copy of a waterworks grant for Preston, Lancashire; indentures for Robert Abbatt. Also includes courtship correspondence between Jonathan Abbatt and Mary Dilworth, plus photocopies and floppy disks of same. The letters chronicle the courtship, discussions of faith, local events, shared sentiments, etc.

The fonds consists of a carbon typescript transcription of part of Parker's personal diary. It was possibly done by Parker himself. It covers the last part of his training in England and his involvement in the Sicilian/Italian campaign until he was wounded in action.

In addition to material on Yeat's The Winding Stair (1929), the research includes related material from The Winding Stair and Other Poems (1933) and Words for Music Perhaps. Also included is a set of corrected page proofs for Druid Craft (1971).

Gioacchino Rossini collection

The collection consists of a leather bound volume, consisting mainly of handwritten transcriptions of a selection of Rossini's works. They are taken from the operas "Italian in Algiers", "Tancredi", and "Otello". Also included is one selection from the Saverio Mercadante (1795-1870) opera "El Puerto Abandonada". All the words are translated into Spanish. The volume bears several labels of "Academia de Musica de J.N. Loretta."

John Sherlock Gooch fonds

The fonds consists of a handwritten bio of Gooch, plus a typed transcription and carbon (possibly by Daphne Fiske). Also included are photocopies of Gooch's handwritten journal comprised of "A 'free run' in the balloon 'Vivid'" [October 18th 1909, 31 l.]. This account was published in The Malahat Review No. 11, 1969; and "Protagonists", his account of moving the artillery battery, of which he was the commanding officer, from England to Salonica and through the campaign there until his discharge [Oct 1915- Dec 1918, 131 l.]

Keith Macgowan fonds

The fonds consists of holograph correspondence written primarily to his mother from the trenches and war front in Europe, together with a typescript transcription of the letters; a photograph of Macgowan with (apparently) two members of his battalion; programme for a Brussels Ball; clippings; and 11 maps used by Macgowan to direct his troops in battle. Also included are aerial photographs of three regions of north-west France together with a map of north-west France (Denain region). Some of the photographs have holograph additions to them, largely for the purpose of identification of towns or other significant features.

The fonds consist of two typed letters from Bosanquet to Roger Senhouse plus a carbon typed letter to Bosanquet from Senhouse. Senhouse annotated Special Collections' copy of "Henry James at Work". Also included are a carbon typescript transcription of Henry James' dictation, a clipping of Bosanquet's article "The Country of Henry James" from Time and Tide, and photocopied clippings from TLS re: James and Bosanquet.
