History

The University Centre Auditorium was officially opened September 28, 1978. The 1275 seat auditorium was the focal point of the new University Centre building and has hosted a variety of musical and other events. In 1998 it was renamed the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium in honour of Hugh Ernest Farquhar, 1910-1984, past president of the University of Victoria.
