Biographical history

Victor Di Castri was a lawyer and former Registrar of the Victoria and Kamloops Land Titles districts for British Columbia. Victor Di Castri was an authority on the land registration system in B.C and a published author of leading legal texts including Canadian Law of Vendor and Purchaser, the Law of Vendor and Purchaser, Occupiers Liability, Thom’s Canadian Torrens System, and Registration of Title to Land. Registration of Title to Land is still in print and used across the country. Victor Di Castri was the brother of John A. Di Castri, the Victoria architect.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of papers, files, documents, and books. Includes drafts of Di Castri's published works, correspondence and opinion letters on land title matters, draft legislation and policy documents, manuals, and his personal daily planners. Also inlcudes a large collection of legal books, including law reports, treatises and statutes, and legal periodicals.
