The Bastion Theatre Company of British Columbia was established in 1963 as the Victoria Theatre Studio by director Peter Mannering in Victoria, B.C. It was registered as a non-profit society in B.C. in April 1964 as the Bastion Theatre Studio and, in 1980, the name was changed to Bastion Theatre Company of British Columbia.
